About Us

Smith Steel LLC., is part of the Smith family business legacy that began in 1967. Originally founded as Smith Construction Co., Inc. by Bill Smith, his father, and two brothers, the company has proudly served customers for nearly 60 years. In 1975, Bill became sole owner of the business, continuing to build on the company’s strong reputation for quality and integrity.

In 2005, Bill’s sons, Alan and Jason Smith, purchased the business, carrying the company into its next chapter as a third-generation family enterprise. After Alan’s retirement, Bill returned to the business in 2024. In 2025, Bill Smith and Jason Smith formed Smith Steel LLC., continuing the Smith family’s commitment to excellence in metal building systems under common family ownership.

Smith Steel proudly continues a longstanding partnership with Chief Industries that dates back more than five decades. The Smith family of companies has partnered with Chief Industries for 54 years and has been an Authorized Chief Builder for Chief Buildings since 1972. Chief Industries, founded in 1964, is a respected member of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA), and IAS certified, reflecting a shared commitment to quality and industry leadership.
